About The Dope
I’ve been tying to make money on the internet since 2003. I’ve had some success, and I’ve had some miserable failure. I’m telling you that right off because I want you to know that I do know a few things. I’ve been around the block, but what I don’t know would fill a much larger book.
I am not a guru. I have not made my fortune online, I still have a job. And I often struggle to pay my bills.
The truth is that I wake up most mornings feeling confident and smarter than the average bear, but most nights I go to bed feeling like a real dope.
So why am I writing a blog on internet marketing? What could I possibly have to say that might help you, dear reader, in your efforts to make some cash online?
Well, once again, I have had some experience, some successful and some not, and I have learned a few things along the way.
There are millions of websites devoted to online marketing but this one is mine. In deciding to embark on this endeavor I have set a couple of goals, and from those goals I have made myself a few promises. Here they are:
Goal #1: To provide true and accurate information. To be honest.
Goal #2: To create a a community of like minded individuals. Together we can sort through disinformation, misleading information and outright lies perpetrated by the opportunists who would take advantage of our trust and profit from our ignorance. Likewise, we can identify the nuggets of really useful information and share them to everyone’s benefit.
And now the promises:
Promise #1: I will be honest. I will not lie. The information on this site will be true and accurate to the best of my ability. If I discover that I have failed in this regard I will correct it immediately and I will be 100% forthright with you, my readers.
Promise #2: I will, to the best of my ability, be positive. That doesn’t mean that I will not have negative things to say, it means that everything I put on this site will be here because I believe it will help. To help is the purpose of this site.
Promise #3: I will take comments and feedback seriously. If you have a problem with something I publish I want to know. Of course that doesn’t mean I will take every criticism or suggestion to heart, but I promise I will consider them very carefully. Once again, a major goal of this site is to build a community of internet marketers. Your opinion matters.
Now in the interest of honesty I have a disclosure:
Disclosure: I hope to make money with this site. Although the expenses of a website like this are nominal, the expense of time and energy is not. I will always be looking for ways to monetize this site, but, in keeping with my goals and promises, I will never do it in such a way as to take advantage of anyone. I will promote products, but only those in which I truly believe, and never those in which I do not.
I will review products and services, and I may be an affiliate of some of these. But promise #1 will always take precedent to the prospect of earning a few bucks. And I do hope you will click on my links should you decide to purchase any of these services or products so that I might make a few dollars.
Generating an income from this site will enable me to work harder to make it a beneficial resource for you. It’s that simple.
This page is the first thing I have written for this site. In fact it is published before I have even finished configuring the plugins and sidebar widgets. I wanted to get this out there so there was no question as to what I am doing.
